Genius Drop: What did the summary leave out?
A clear summary can still leave out something that matters.
On September 24, Singapore's Ministry of Manpower announced recommendations that include practical support and training for responsible AI use in HR. This is a policy announcement, not evidence that any particular tool has improved an employment outcome.
It raises a useful question for everyday leadership: when technology makes information easier to consume, what must people still examine?
Discover: compression is a choice
A summary leaves things out. That is its purpose. The leadership task is to notice whether the omitted context matters to the decision in front of you.

Activate: check one omission
Use a public or non-sensitive document and an approved tool. Compare its summary with the original. Mark one qualification, uncertainty or exception that did not survive the compression.
Ask: would that omission change what we do next?
If yes, restore the context and name the person responsible for reviewing it. If no, keep the summary concise. The goal is deliberate review, not endless checking.
Do not upload private employee information to unapproved tools. This exercise is not a hiring assessment or a substitute for appropriate human and professional review.

For a recurring workflow, add one small field: “Context checked by...” This identifies responsibility without pretending that a short checklist guarantees a correct decision.
Clarity is useful. Context makes it trustworthy.
